Ann Nyberg

"I am pleased to serve as Honorary Chairwomen of this 'Women in Transformation' fundraiser, celebrating the contributions of women. Thank you for including me in this great event. As the mother of three daughters, your mission of 'women helping women' is dear to my heart."

Ann Nyberg is an Emmy nominated anchor who excels in the fast paced, high-pressure world of television journalism. Along with Keith Kountz, she anchors three nightly newscasts: News Channel 8 at 6, 10, and 11p.m. She has been voted Best News Anchor in the Connecticut Magazine reader's poll in 1998, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004.

Ann brings 25 years of experience to her position. She has served as both an investigative and general assignment reporter and has extensive experience working "live" in the field. In January of 1998, Ann traveled to Cuba to report on the historic visit of Pope John Paul II to the Communist country. In October of the same year, Ann went to Rome and inside the Vatican to cover the Pontiff's 20th anniversary celebration

Not only does Ann bring integrity and dedication to the job, she also feels very strongly about reaching out to the community. She is involved with countless organizations around the state and enjoys lending a helping hand wherever it's needed. In the summer of 1993, Ann founded the Toy Closet program at Yale-New Haven Children's Hospital. Thousands of toys are collected year round so that every child admitted to the hospital can be comforted.
